Solution

Our team was challenged with creating a full-featured toolset that would facilitate the process of placing orders for SIM card manufacturing and their further distribution between the client’s regional offices.

The client wanted the solution to automate the following processes:

  • Creation and approval of SIM card delivery forecasts on a quarterly basis.
  • Placement of orders and monitoring of their status.
  • Control of delivery and payment deadlines.
  • Inventory monitoring.
  • Generation of reports and business documents.

The final solution, delivered by R-Style Lab web developers, works as follows: at the forecasting stage, the system makes sure that the required SIM cards can be manufactured altogether via monitoring unique logical connections. Once approved, files with tech specifications for SIM card delivery manufacturing are automatically processed and exchanged. Analytical reports show the key manufacturing and card delivery parameters, and facilitate the KPI evaluation for vendors and regional branches by generating reports and other requested documents.

For ensuring the solution stability, our developers used the Java EE technology and associated tools: JSTL, JSP, Portlets and iBatis/myBatis. The custom ECM is built on top of the IBM WebSphere application server, with Oracle chosen for the database layer.
